Game Designer

Live Lab: Nov 2016 - Jun 2017

Texas A&M, College Station, TX

The LIVE Lab is a student employed game studio located on Texas A&M's campus in College Station. Together, we designed educational games aimed at college students like us. I worked heavily on the Variant franchise, which is all about teaching calculus through the lens of gaming. I quickly moved from intern to designer to project lead for Variant.

Through this position I was working on the intellectual property of Triseum, a Bryan, TX based game studio. They mentored our lab, giving us as much freedom as we could ever want and access to designers and developers who had been in our industry for years

Kansas State Game Jam Winner

We were one of three teams sent to Kansas State from Texas A&M to compete in their annual game jam. We had 48 hours to complete a game in the theme of inundation, with a focus on flooding. This contest was in February of 2017 and our team ended up taking first place with our game Polynesian Steven.

Musical Migration

This project was completed as part of a study abroad opportunity I had in Bonn, Germany. The class was split into teams of 4 to 5 and tasked with making an animation from scratch based on the theme of "migration." We completed our video using Adobe After Effects; I was responsible for many character animations and we all collaborated on pipeline organization and asset hand-offs.

Benedict Dumpty’s Storybook Scramble

Over the course of a summer, myself and three other A&M students created a children’s game concept. This was to be a platforming game where children would go through settings and adventures based on common fairy tales. We made a three level vertical slice; I was in charge of most enemy programming and general game play elements.
